I've seen some answers where you talk about Marvel's great success with films, yet Marvel didn't want Robert Downey JR to play Iron Man, among other decisions, so it's really the studios that should take the lion's share of the credit for the films, right?

I think you’re confused here–Marvel IS the studio. So if we didn’t want Downey in the role, he wouldn’t have gotten the role. He won the part, and clearly did great things with it. But he was hired by Marvel.
