  • On the John Byrne returning to Marvel comments. I recall he stated that he'd like to come back and do a Fantastic Four Forever series, but Marvel seemed to not want to. I thought that was a missed opportunity to give that line of books a big shot in the arm. Wasn't his issue of not wanting to work with Marvel because Quesada was EIC, and Byrne didn't like JQ's handling of the Hidden Years being canceled? I wasn't aware of a problem between him and others, but I'd love to hear the scoop!

I remember when there was a bunch of talk about that project, but John never spoke to anybody in a position to make it happen at Marvel. As I said, he’s made his position concerning the Marvel of the last decade very clear, so if he has a change of heart or wants to mend fences, the ball is very much in his court. But posting about wanting to do such a project and hoping somebody at Marvel will magically turn up to offer it to him doesn’t seem like a very realistic approach–especially given his vocal opinions over the years. If John wants to do something at Marvel, all he really needs to do is pick up the phone–but making a statement on line and then staring at the phone waiting for it to ring is a bit unrealistic.
