  • Is it really as simple an equation as "put Avengers or X-Men in the title & it sells more", or "put Wolverine or Spider-Man on a team & the book sells more" etc? Do you think 'Avengers AI' or 'Avengers Arena' would sell less without the word 'Avengers' in the title?

    It’s no great surprise that popular characters and franchises sell better than less popular ones–so yes, I do think that AVENGERS A.I. stands a better chance of success than UNAFFILIATED ROBOT CREW. The trick, though, is to do more than just stick the name on a series, but to actually find a way for it to connect materially to the franchise or core concept.
