A while ago you suggested the only reason people want to see characters like Hank Pym, Tigra or She-Hulk in Avengers is because of their own personal nostalgia despite the characters, particularly Pym, having a huge relevance to the Avengers franchise. Now, I take a look at the current Avengers book and see it prominently features takes on 80s flops Nightmask and Star Brand. If this doesn't make your statement the height of hypocrisy, I don't know what does.
The word you left out there was “back”–people want to see those characters back in Avengers because of nostalgia. And there’s nothing wrong with doing new stories with older characters–but doing it solely because of nostalgia isn’t the best way to make it work. Anybody who’s read Jonathan’s issues of AVENGERS can plainly see that the nostalgia quotient there is just about nil.
