Question about the X-Men: I realize this was a bit before your time, but do you know why when the book's sales dropped down, why was the book just not simply pulled from the shelf? I find it odd that Marvel released reprints like it did and kept it on the shelf when the book was not doing well at all. Not disagreeing with the decision, but do you any insight into why Marvel did that?
After the series was cancelled, sales figures came in for the last few issues, which showed an uptick–enough for Martin Goodman to bring it back as a reprint title. Marvel then had a full line of reprints, so it just fit into that, and didn’t have to sell all that well to make money, given that there were no A & E costs.
