Neither Marvel nor DC is a small “Mom ‘n Pop” shop any longer, and there really isn’t any percentage in doing a crossover–you’ll spend just as much effort as on any other comic for only half the revenue, and for a story that you can’t do anything further with in the normal course of publishing. So while it’s a fun thing for the fans, it’s a terrible use of resources from the side of the companies.
