  • This might be a weird question, but: Do you know why Herb Trimpe so drastically changed his art style in the '90s? Was he asked to do it, or did he choose to do it? Because every time I see his '90s art, I'm shocked again at how terrible it was, while his '70s and '80s work was always solid. I'm not trying to disrespect him; I just can't fathom how such a talented artist put out such inexplicably bad work.

    I believe Herb was encouraged to do it by editors who were trying to keep his work contemporary and thus help him to continue to pick up work.
