  • I am trying to say this and I fear it may sound insulting... you are a better writer than you are an editor. As a writer you seemed to be more confined and interested in addressing and playing with continuity. As an editor, I get the feeling you really don't care as long as a writer has a story that gets from A to B. I read something like the final arc on Secret Defenders and I think it's a great read, I read Bendis' Avengers and I find the treatment of continuity disgusting.

And I don’t mean this answer to sound as insulting as it no doubt will. But it sounds like you’re more interested in your own personal continuity and being rewarded for having read a lot of comics than you are in a story that works, that is emotionally affecting, that has something to say about the human condition. Nothing wrong with that per se, except I think you should maybe be careful about chastising those who have a different point of view. Also, the newest comic you just mentioned is a decade old, it might be time to put this to bed and move on with your life.
