What does happen when you announce a book and the response is pretty much all negative? Do you swallow your pride? Have the balls to tell the artist his work isn't good enough? Reprimand the editor who hired him? Or do you arrogantly just release it
That never happens, and even if it did, we would trust to our own instincts and the talents of the creators involved and see what happens. The worst that will happen is that the series will end, and that happens to books all the time–including some with very vocal fan bases. So you really never know; internet chatter doesn’t correspond to what people do when the books are on the racks.
