In terms of Rick, the talent that we work with aren’t slaves, we cannot make them do anything that they do not want to do. For Rick, like others before him, he got to a place in his life where he wanted to focus more on his creator-owned work and personal projects. There’s nothing wrong with that–and nothing that says that he might not one day do more work for Marvel. But when somebody feels that way, there is no “shouldn’t let him go” apart from iron bars and a door that locks–and that certainly wouldn’t make for good comics.
