In your opinion, why did Chris Claremont's return to the X-Men in 2000 work out so poorly? I know a creator can never match what he did before, but much of his work after that was, if not great, at least respectable. But I recall the 2000 X-Men (including that special TV Guide story to promote the movie) as being almost incomprehensible.
What we do isn’t math, it’s alchemy, so the same numbers don’t always add up the same way. Maybe it was the wrong storyline at the wrong time, or any number of other possibilities.
