  • I am curious about Marvel Unlimited. Do creators get any royalties? Is readership on the Unlimited app/site a consideration for whether a series is saved or cancelled? Has there been a series, so far, that's outperformed expectations in Unlimited, when compared to its sales? With so many ANAD series launching, there has to be some degree of "I'll buy this but wait for that" among fans/readers and I'm wondering if a series might get cancelled before it makes it to Unlimited.

Yes, creators get incentives on books that are read through Marvel Unlimited, though it’s a complex algorithm. And I don’t think readership on Unlimited is really a factor in the survival of a series given that the soonest that new books make it onto that platform is after six months. I suppose if something performed outstandingly, in a way that made it stand out from everything else and shattered expectations, we would look into that. But so far, that hasn’t really been the case–what’s most read on Unlimited tend to be the same titles that sell well as single issues both in print and digitally.
