Has there ever been any talk of making 1st issues cheaper to get more initial sales and see if people stick around?

We’ve tried this sort of thing in the past, and the truth is that it doesn’t work. If a reader is interested, then the price isn’t a barrier to entry, and if they aren’t the price isn’t an enticement to entry. In the broadest sense–of course there are some who would try it, but not enough to move the needle in our experience.
