I think the most overlooked artists tend to be guys like Mark Bagley, John Romita Jr. or Salvador Larroca, who produce a tremendous amount of quality work at a regular clip, but who become ubiquitous due to their very steadiness and regularity–the qualities that many fans complain are lacking in other artists who are more popular or flashy. Sal Buscema is perhaps comics’ most overlooked artist.
