Do editors ever tell writers to rewrite dialogues so that characters will sound more like they're suposed to? Like say, if a writer wrote Rogue without her southern accent or Ben Grimm without his New York tough guy mannerisms, or wrote Doctor Doom using very coloquial language, would you tell them to rewrite it?

If an editor felt that a particular bit of dialogue was out of character or sounded wrong, sure they would.
But what sounds wrong to you for a given character may sound perfectly fine to me. And vice versa.
Plus, characters grow and change and evolve over time, and that includes the manner in which they speak. On a certain level, it seems wrong for the Thing that Stan and Jack created to talk about MP3 players or touch-screen smartphones, but on the other hand, in 2015, how can he not?
