I get what you're saying about Bil Watterson shifting art styles for dramatic or comedic effect, Jim Lee's strong attention to detail and Rob Liefeld's love of taking everything over the top but you're forgetting that Joe Mad not only was influenced by a lot of manga artists which opened up western markets to Manga but he also influenced a LOT of new artists in the mid-late 90s. How come he's not seen as influential?
I’m not forgetting Joe Mad. But I don’t think he was as influential as the other guys in that list.
