I’m not sure that that’s really true, but there are a number of reasons why it might be. Primary among them is that the duties of a Chief Creative Officer might be defined differently from one company to the next. Based on what I know of what they work on, Joe and Geoff are doing relatively different things, with some overlap but not as much as you might think. Secondly, Geoff has been actively writing two DC titles, whereas Joe’s only had the time to occasionally write or draw something–so Geoff is more regularly participating as a creator on the DC books. That said, you’re completely unaware of what ideas or thoughts or springboards came from Joe over that same period, especially because they’re not things that would be credited to him.
