  • I've never been one to believe in event fatigue-- People keep buying the books! How could it be a thing! --- but going from Original Sin, to Axis and Spider-Verse and then Secret Wars? All within a year? I've just tapped out of event storytelling in comics(And yes, Forever Evil contributes to that, too) Is there a worry that Marvel might be going TOO far with releasing event books?

Not while they continue to sell far better than everything else, no. So while any one individual reader may feel fatigued, like yourself, the audience as a whole doesn’t seem to get tired of big stories like this–and that audience frequently includes people who otherwise aren’t reading a whole lot of comics, it seems.

When it stops working, we’ll absolutely stop doing it. But there’s no evidence at all of that happening. If anything, we’re seeing the opposite–that it’s more difficult to sell just “regular” issues of a given run in-between major life-shattering Event stories.
