  • I was reading the "Oral History of the Avengers" pages of Bendis' run, which I had skipped when reading the original issues, and noticed that it sawys the Hank Pym Yellowjacket mental breakdown leading to him marrying Wasp never hapened and was all just some weird hoax to fool the media. Was it meant to be a retcon (which would contradict the dozens of stories where the Yellowjacket persona's origins are brought up) or is it suposed to be the Avengers lying to protect Hank's reputation?

If you go back and look at the original issues, you will see that Hank’s breakdown absolutely led to him marrying the Wasp. Later stories tried to mitigate the ickyness of that moment by doing convoluted backflips to try to make this not the Wasp taking advantage of a man who was at that point quite out of his mind–but that’s nevertheless the story that Roy Thomas wrote.
