  • Have you ever considered giving a title to a writer who hates the character just to see what s/he would do with it? For instance, Mark Waid has said that he despises Cable. Would you give him the assignment to write a Cable mini or ongoing with the stated objective to redefine the character without changing who he is?

    I don’t think there’d be a whole lot of upside to trying to get a writer who doesn’t like a character to write that character–especially without changing them. That’s just likely to lead to some crummy stories.
