Everything I learned about the X-Men and Spiderman's Histories I picked up from the Fox animated series of the 90's. In hindsight it seems like the continuity of those shows was pretty close to the comics. Was the purpose of those shows to educate kids about the stories and draw people into the books? I like a lot of the marvel animated stuff made since then, but shows like 'wolverine & the X-men' and 'Iron Man Armoured adventures' are less representative of the books they're based on.
