No, I don’t think so, because there’s really no place for such a story to go other than to restore the original marriage, something that nobody wants to do. There doesn’t seem to be a version of “Peter and MJ find out that they were married but somehow decide to stay not married because of reasons” that makes any emotional sense. It also won’t satisfy any of the readers who want to see them back together in wedded bliss. Do you see what I mean? All that’s left is what we call “comics about comics”, a story in which we acknowledge or explain something about an earlier story for the benefit of the relatively small portion of the audience that read that older story and cares to see it revisited in some manner. As a rule, we try to avoid doing comics about comics–if we’re revisiting some piece of Marvel’s history, it should be in the service of a new story with emotional relevance today.
