  • "I don’t know, for example, that I want to feel any sympathy for Carnage given who and what he is–but that’s not an absolute, either" In that same vein, I didn't really like the RED SKULL origin mini. I thought it humanized him to an extent, and even though he went evil early it still gave you some moments where you felt bad for his circumstance. I like Red Skull being born evil. Why do you think it's rough to write origins about villains who are evil out of the womb?

I tend to think that villains who were born evil are simply less interesting. They become cartoonish mustache-twirlers of one sort or another. So you can edge up to that in certain cases, but a villain who is simply bad because he is bad is pretty two-dimensional, and it’s difficult to invest in their plans and situation.
