  • I feel like your best villains are the ones who you can actually empathize with and really feel for them despite their deeds. Magneto, Leader, Zemo, Sinister, Venom, Doom, Ultron, Zeke Stane, Ghost and Shocker are the first which spring to mind. At the same time, I feel like certain villains are far too unsympathetic to be anywhere near as interesting. Namely Crossbones and Carnage. Would making them more relatable cheapen one or both of them?

    Shocker?

I think that, just like our heroes, there’s room for a wide variety of villains of different background. I don’t know, for example, that I want to feel any sympathy for Carnage given who and what he is–but that’s not an absolute, either. Somebody could have a perfect story that would make Carnage a better, more fully realized character.
