I just read the new Civil War book and I really enjoyed it, but I'm confused about something: is it set on Battleworld or on Earth in an alternate timeline? As far as I could tell, there was no indication in the story that it's set on Battleworld. If it is, how come there's no mention of Doom, the Barons, the Thors, etc.? Was it originally planned as a 'What If?' story before being tied into Secret Wars?

It is set on Battleworld, as the title page makes clear. Also, if you look closely, Tony Stark is wearing a Flag of Doomstadt pin.
