Dug the "to the winds" twist in SW#4. Hate what it means. Before SW there was a lot of "just buy what you like the look of". Now after #4 the main book characters are going to be turning up across other books. I've already committed to all the books I can afford. It's a difficult position. Do I miss the main story tie-ins? Do I abandon the series' I've already committed to? As far as I know there's still no buyer's guide/checklist. How will we know where to go to follow specific characters?

Well, you’ve got a whole Internet here to help you in this regard.
Or you could simply choose to follow just the main series, as you’ve been doing. That works, too.
