Or, same but opposite, Wanda & Pietro becoming non-mutants (and House of M reduced the numbers)? More widely, Marvel generally prefer their heroes unmarried and/or not ageing naturally, and change them to be that way.

Jim Hammond isn’t Inhuman, he’s an android. You’re thinking of Toro–and given that Toro only became a mutant after existing for thirty years, that’s a fair shift to make, I think.
And none of your other examples plugs into “Hey, we need more of group X, so let’s just switch character Y to be that.” properly. Yes, we make changes to characters, because, hey, storytellers. But not all changes fit those particular parameters.
