  • Hello.

Given that the topic of fair representation of minorities or vulnerable groups within society has been an ongoing topic, I am deeply concerned about the depiction of mentally ill people within all forms of media.

They are generally portrayed as extremely dangerous and unsympathetic, despite the fact that the vast majority are harmless, and subjected to violent crime at 11x the normal frequency.

They become perpetrators rather than victims, which is an inversion of the general reality, and given that this greatly affects how they are viewed by the public, creates dangerous stigmatisation, and encourages even more violence, harrassment, and violation to be directed at them.

Here is some information about the issue:

Given that this is an extremely serious issue, with real world consequences, I would greatly appreciate if you would please allow it to be brought up. Thank you.
