  • Tom, your attack on the guy over Perry and Johnny is wrong.You remind me of the people who have told me "some of my best friends are African-American". I am as pissed off with the casting of J. Storm, as I would be if you cast Jason Statham as T'Challa. I resent that you feel we have to change 75 years of comics history for me to feel "OK". There are many things in our history that were (and still are) a problem for African-Americans. A white Fantastic Four (or Spider-Man) is not one of them.

    I think you need to ask yourself why this troubles you so much.

    If you’d seen the film and hated the performance, that wold be one thing (and that could still happen).

    But right now, we’re just talking about the idea, the concept. And this degree of revulsion for this sort of a casting choice isn’t simply about matching a comic book, it implies something much deeper.

    Look, really look at yourself, and ask what it is about this that you find so troubling, and why.
