I understand from a creative perspective you like to have people surprised by stories, but is there any business reason to keep info about stories from leaking out?

The creative perspective and the business perspective are one and the same. People are more likely to enjoy stories when they are experienced in the manner that the storytellers intended rather than a pre-knowledge of events or the ending, and they are more likely to come back for more if they enjoy what they’re reading. Spoilers help nobody except the people doing the spoiling. Because we live in the world we live in, sometimes it’s unavoidable, though.
