  • In response to your post in reply to Marvel obliterating DC in sales do you think the movies and TV shows are bringing everything to a much better place. I keep thinking that in the next 10 or 20 years there will be enough comic book movies and TV shows for DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and now even Valiant that almost all the characters will somehow be present in the consumers minds. I honestly imagine that after that time or probably during the marketplace will become competitive again.

    All of the media exposure is great for keeping the characters in the public consciousness and motivating potential readers to seek out the comics–but if the comics don’t sell well, they will go away. No other medium is going to underwrite the comics, at either company. So yes, it’s all a good thing, but it’s not a panacea whereby we don’t need to worry about attracting and keeping an audience anymore.
