I saw Avengers: Age of Ultron twice and the treatment of Quicksilver puzzled me both times; it felt weird to kill off a character we barely knew, and it wasn't even what motivated the Scarlet Witch to join the Avengers. (Plus, and this doesn't really matter for a film, I don't recall him ever being killed off in any other story, unlike Wanda who gets killed in almost every alternate universe.) I'm just curious, as a viewer, if the moment worked for you.
Sure. It was unexpected and carried emotional impact, which is what you want.
