So I'm not totally buying into this whole FF/x-men paranoia. Still i wanted to ask when there is suddenly a lot of focus on characters like Blink, Bishop, Warpath, Negasonic and Caliban both in the films and the comic press, i don't understand why you don't make the most of this with these characters. Ok two are dead but y'know techno virus. Easy out. I mean Deathlock had a few appearances in Shield and gets his own series. You obviously see value in media interest but only when it suits you.

Well, yes, of course, we only do what suits us when it suits us–that’s obvious, isn’t it?

And at least speaking for myself, in the absence of a killer pitch I don’t see fans flocking to buy a Teenage Negasonic Warhead series or a Caliban series, for all that they may be in some upcoming films–especially when we seem to struggle to keep books like Storm alive.

The reality is that not all situations are created equal. Deathlok was created as a headliner and had been a headliner many times before, so his exposure on television gave a leg up to trying a new series. So far, though, the same exposure hasn’t meant the same thing for Mockingbird. It’s not a one-size-fits-all marketplace.

Far smarter, I think, to use those characters in core X-Men books, and elsewhere.
