Given that this appears to be an age of more creative freedom at Marvel, would you say that a book's sucess is based on more than just sales figures? I would imagine that digital sales provide some limited demographic data for example. And that Disney are abble to provide more market research data than you previously had at your disposal.
A book’s success was always based on more than just sales figures. But that being said, it has always been and continues to be a fact that each and every Marvel title needs to earn its keep–we don’t carry stragglers that aren’t earning back. So in that respect, sales figures are as important as ever–they’re what allow us to continue to do further issues of a particular series.
