Was there ever discussion about the fates of 616 Steve and Tony in Avengers 44? To have them go out the way they did was terribly sad and not the way I thought they'd go out at all. In the end, two of Marvel's icons died trying to kill each other instead of working together to try and save the world. Cap seemed very short-sighted in the end, and Tony gave up all restraint when all was lost. I guess I just thought there would have been more to their end.
