Related to the question about "fans" calling for artists/writers to be fired - is this a relatively new phenomenon perhaps brought about by internet anonymity or back in the pen and paper days was the hate as vitriolic?

it was perhaps not as vitriolic, but there were certainly calls for creators to be taken off book (or for other creators to be put on books) for just as long as there’s been communication with the readership.
