  • According to Alan Davis, it was actually editor Dave Thorpe who came up with the number Earth-616, not Alan Moore. Moore and Davis co-wrote the comic that first used the term, so it's anyone's guess who's telling the truth, but I trust Davis since Moore has been known to bend the truth in his recollections.
