I think the line that Avengers characters affect too many books to have one of them have a retconned sexuality is bullshit. Iceman isn't a niche character who only pops up in one series (as evidence by the big brouhaha regarding his outing). He appears in All-New, Uncanny, Amazing, Spider-man and the X-men, and has ties to characters outside of the X-Line (Torch, Spider-man, etc.), and to be frank, has had a longer mainstream media presence than most Avengers.
