  • In regards to Scarlet Witch discussion, if I can join in - I feel it's wrong to say fans are afraid of change. I believe it's like Si Spurrier said once, fans are okay with change and even if continuity is wonky, they can work around it...unless they feel new status quo is worse than what has to be given up to achieve it. So even if hero overcomes the obstacles in the end, if they're left in situation readers find less interesting than previous one, they're going to hate it and the writer.

    Maybe so. But all that said, I’m reminded of one of the things that Mark Gruenwald used to say, wisely:

    “Give the fans what they want, not what they think they want.”
