  • Tom, kinda similar to why you hate when other people pick up Thor's Hammer, do you ever fear that having so many spider-heroes, or multiple people with access to some version of Stark's armor makes the originals less unique? Like Silk, Miles, and Spider-Gwen are all good books, and I haven't enjoyed Amazing Spider-Man for a couple of years now, so why should we care about Peter when there are better versions of the same thing around?

The flip side is also true, though–you’re not going to suddenly care about Peter more if we cancel SILK and SPIDER-GWEN and so forth. You’re only going to care because of what’s going on in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.

I come from an era when there weren’t so many different iterations of characters, so it’s not something that I really love in general. But the audience seems to, so there’s nothing inherently wrong with doing it so long as it is done well.
