I've heard Simon Kinburg say it makes no sense for the FF and X-Men to exist in the same universe. Any thoughts on that? Or is he not aware that Marvel has been doing that successfully for 50+ years?

I assume that he’s speaking specifically about the film incarnations of those properties. And depending on what the Fantastic Four movie depicts, he may very well be right.
