  • 2/2 I'm asking because often when superhero comics say it's not right to kill supervillain to save innocent life I feel like superheroes simply say that the life of the innocent is worth less than not even the life of a killer, but less than their own sense of moral superiority, it makes them look like smug jerks who don't really care about people they are supposed to protect, as long as they can keep clear conscience and self-image. So, what is your opinion about it?

I think that it’s not right to kill people in order to save abstract lives. So, in other words, if you want to kill the Joker so that he won’t kill any more people, that’s an abstract–and it’s murder. From there, it’s a slippery slope to killing everybody else, because they might themselves kill somebody.
