  • This summer I'll be teaching a college course Comic Books in American History.I'm curious what seminal comic books/graphic novels you'd assign if teaching a course like this.I haven't settled on the readings,but I'm deciding among Lois Lane: Celebration of 75 Years; Fantastic 4 Masterworks v. 4; Spider-man Masterworks v. 1; A Contract with God; Maus; God Loves, Man Kills; Batman: Year One; March, v. 2; Ms. Marvel (Kamala Kan) v. 1; Shadow Hero; American Splendor; Vault of Horror v. 1.
