  • In fairness I didn't read the story but surely the Anna/Doc Ock story is not a story about love transcending appearance. Doc Ock misled the much younger woman he was interested in about his true appearrance like a person on that tv show Catfish and Anna went out with a man who looked like Peter Parker who would be an attractive man by western standards. If he looked like Doc Ock it's extremely doubtful she would be interested. Strikes me as a pretty cynical take on modern standards of beauty.
