  • Why is it ok to age Peter Parker past high school and past college but not past marriage? I would think the dividing line between school years and living as an independent adult is just as big a relatability gap for a young audience.

    Well, sure. But Stan graduated Peter from High School in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #28, having no idea that the character would still be around fifty years later. So there’s no easy or graceful way to go back. On the other hand, it’s no coincidence that Ultimate Spider-Man stayed in High School until the day he died, 160 issues in.
