Do you know why Quasar got added to the Avengers back in the day? Seemed like he was plunked in by placeholder writers and then just lingered when John Byrne took over. Whose idea was it to make him an Avenger?

Quasar was made an Avenger by Mark Gruenwald, largely to help promote his solo series.
