How many alternate realities have been destroyed over the years, well before this cycle of stories began? Quite a few. And the existence of alternate M'Kraan Crystals were irrelevant–nothing happened involving it as a result of those universes becoming demised. So there’s nothing to address–clearly, the big pink gem doesn’t work that way.
M'Kraan Crystal = dumb.
