It wouldn’t be satisfying for anybody, really." Then why not say after SECRET WARS just give us a new MACHINE MAN origin, where it's still basically Aaron Stack but a different origin. Then reprint the new origin with the first 9 issues. Not the same thing clearly since it's not Kirby but it is a compromise.

Because my guess is that nobody would like that either. The people who want to read those Kirby stories want to read those stories, and all of them.
