Exactly how does marvel tie events like Spider-verse with app/games like Spider-Man unlimited? More specifically how long does the preparation take for both app and event to be launched the same time when both take MONTHS of processing and planning?

It doesn’t take as long as you might think. But it does take time, and needs to be coordinated well ahead of time. For something like Spider-Verse, it was advantageous that the storyline involved multiple Spider-Men for whom “skins” already existed, cutting down on the amount of work that was necessary.
