If Reed went to Heaven to rescue Ben at the end of Mark Waid's FF run, how can he be an atheist? He met God (or someone very much like him) and God literally erased his scars with a magic pencil. Did this get retconned or is Reed just incredibly stubborn and short-sighted? I'm not saying he should carry a Bible everywhere, but a mention of how it impacted his views would be cool.
I think it completely did. He met an entity, one no different in its way than Eternity or Galactus or any of the other cosmic powers. I think that, to somebody like Reed, that would imply less divinity, rather than more.
